maltech recently undertook its first project in the Philippines – a very exciting development for the company! Having been asked to review the design of a 17 storey residential building in Manila, Alan studied the Philippine National Building Codes and was then able to produce an economical design using in-house software. This involved some complex seismic and typhoon load calculations – luckily not something we usually need to carry out in Yorkshire!
