Feasibility studies allow ideas to be explored cheaply and quickly.

The governors of a local primary school asked maltech to carry out a feasibility study into how they could best extend their existing 1965 built school. They wanted bigger classrooms, to double the size of their hall and to add a library all without changing the scale or intimate feel of the school.

maltech visited the school, spoke to the governors and staff and recorded what was already in place. They then drew up 6 very different schemes using CAD and presented them to the interested parties.

This paper exercise allowed the governors and staff to consider the different options. One scheme stood out as fulfilling all their requirements and was developed further. The school was able to take plans and elevations of the proposed extensions to the appropriate authority and was successful in their bid for funding.

The project has now been handed over to an Architect specialising in school design who will build upon our initial concepts.
