Holiday accommodation, Brinkburn, Northumberland

Client: Brinkburn Estate

A more unusual and complex project, requiring Maltech’s skill , is this exciting sustainable development, designed by Bright Blue Studio Architects. Comprising of:

The ‘Bothy’ – part new build and part refurbishment of existing ‘garden buildings’, to be attached to the very high wall surrounding an old walled garden.

Construction of facilities and 3 pad buildings for a proposed recreational development. Each Ecopad building to consist of a pre-engineered timber framed building sat on a raking timber platform and sub-structure founded into forested and hilly grounds. It is envisaged that the majority of the platform and sub-structure are made from cut logs from the Brinkburn Estate and stress graded by others.
